Vision 2020 is a global initiative aimed at avoiding the avoidable blindness by year 2020.

Diabetes mellitus is on the rise. The age of diabetes has comedown by 10 years meaning that people are getting diabetes at 30-40 as compared to their parents who were diabetic at 50-60. It is estimated that by 2015 india will be the diabetic capital of the world.

Diabetes surely affects eyes. Diabetic retinopathy is a priority disease under vision 2020.

Surya Eye has taken the initiative by conducting free bi-annual eye check-up camps for diabetic patients. Thus we are commited to increasing awareness about this silent cause of blindness.

We have also started a signature campaign to educate people about diabetic retinopathy.
