A post-graduate in Ophthalmology, Dr. Vinod Goyel was awarded Fellowship to the International College of Surgeons (F.I.C.S.), Illinois, USA in 1992.

He set up his private practice in Ophthalmology at Mumbai over two decades ago. He established Vision Care, a Microsurgery Centre in 1981 and made a niche of his own in the field of Microsurgery, IOLs, Squint, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Intensive Eye Care & Community Ophthalmology. He founded Surya Eyetech Hospital and Research Institute in 1998.

Within 6 months of its inception, Surya Eye Institute acquired an image of excellence and quality care. Surya, now, is a synonym of service & has leading Ophthalmologists from Mumbai on its panel. It provides globally competitive & holistic eye care by providing a synergistic fusion of state-of-the-art facility & best of the expertise to all sections of the society, in an elegant, yet, cost-effective setting. It has become an eye care destination for patients, not only from India, but also from Kenya, Sri Lanka, USA, UK, Singapore, Dubai, Qatar, Oman (Muscat), New Zealand etc.

Dr. Goyel has been a pioneer in bringing world class technology to the average citizen in this part of the city. Surya Eye Institute is the first Eye Hospital in Mumbai to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certification, by RWTUV, Germany, ensuring a Quality System for provision of Ophthalmic Services.

Dr. Goyel has been associated in various capacities with the Bombay Ophthalmologists’ Association including President for the year 2004 - 2005, the All India Ophthalmologists’ Association, National Society for Prevention of Blindness, All-India Intraocular Lens Implantation Society, Indian Medical Association, etc. and is a senior member of the Rotary club of Mulund.

He has many scientific publications to his credit. He has presented a number of papers at conferences at the State, National, and International level. He has been actively been contributing to the National Programme for Prevention of Blindness for more than two decades. He has been a pioneer in promoting Eye Care Awareness and imparting Health Education through various TV Channels, newspapers, magazines and periodicals.

He is also probably among the very few Ophthalmologists in conducting educative seminars & eye check ups at various Corporates & Multinational Companies like Larsen & Toubro, Glaxo, Godrej, RPG Cables, Precisions, Indal and Avdel, just to name a few.

He has conducted numerous Diagnostic and Operative Eye Camps, all over Maharashtra and even outside the state. Apart from these, he has also conducted Speciality Diagnostic Camps for Diabetic Retinopathy, LASIK, etc.

Down to earth, practical, innovative and a simple person, Dr. Vinod Goyel – our Medical Director, has been dedicated to Ophthalmology and continues to strive for a better tomorrow.
